A 140-square-metre house in Vienna's Simmering district, converted into a shared living facility for children classified as repeat serious offenders, has completed its renovation and is preparing to receive its first residents.

The property has been fitted with break-resistant windows and doors as part of the conversion, according to a statement cited by Austrian news agency APA. Officials said construction work is now fully finished and that the first residents will move in as soon as possible.

The facility, referred to in German as the "Auszeit-WG" or "time-out shared house," is intended for children aged 11 to 13 who have repeatedly committed serious offences. Stays can last up to twelve weeks, and the house is designed to accommodate up to 16 children per year.
